(In Ann Arbor on the way west)

Land's End

Can you hear the waves
bang against the city's foundation

small berry plants and
spearmint sprinkled across
the rocky terrain

Ice plant squishing under my toes
while walking to the mountainous boulders
that keep the ocean from the land

Trees above fashioned into hills
by those winds that often blow
foggy worlds in with them

Sunset making the water
all kinds of rainbows

As my eyes dance to the music
of the west.

I'll be home soon enough.
