Vodafone AirTouch To Relaunch Calling Party Pays

totaltele.com

RDSL - 29 September 1999

Vodafone AirTouch will relaunch its calling party pays service in Colorado, US, in October 1999.

The company claims that the new version of the service will address a number of problems, including billing of untraceable calls to a customer, caller notification of increased charges, service flexibility and customer costs.

The company charges USDlr3.95/mo for the calling party pays service, with calls charged at as much as USDlr0.45/min. The company claims that there are still problems with calling party pays which can only be resolved via the introduction of a national agreement.

The company believes that demand for calling party pays exists, although the service accounts for less than 10% of its customers.
