INTC is no longer a proxy for technology. This should be seen as a rotation of technology rather than an indicator of things to come. There is a slow but steady stream of businesses creating embedded devices that don't run windows, os/2, java, linux, and instead run only what they must. These are specialized devices for different functions and dont need general purpose operating systems.

That is why INTC will eventually lose market share. Eventually, they will simply become a fab for companies like brcm and others.
