DrBob - CSCO is taking the path of COMS for what I understand:
leaving the network gear business and calling the next killer appkication Telephony (wireless, telco equipment and Voice over IP). Back to the business of the end of the 19th century with modern tools ?
Guess that phone equipment will be IPOed a la COMS/PALM, leaving CSCO with an empty shell.

Next quarter? Yes , I also expect this one to be baaaad, but not as fearfull as the sum of the quarters: the FY data (I have said this many times before).
Even a good 4th quarter will not improve all fiscal exercise.
And if CSCO leaves the networking business, what will other cos. do? Burn their ships also? Write off their whole business as "one time charge" and produce pro-forma profits?

Middle term, I dunnmo, but longer term I expect the Naz to be halved twice again: 5200 - 2600 -1300 - 625.
Was not going to publish this chart
users.skynet.be as I still am working on it (need some historical data back to 1972).
The general idea is that, even at 1300 this year, we still would be in a bull market: return of more than 11.5% from 1900 through.
