I would say you can equate the "elective war" with the fact that Clinton allowed the Iraq situation to rock on for 8 years without doing anything about it even though Saddam was chronically violating the terms of the cease fire agreement. Had Clinton been competent, the Iraq War would have been unnecessary.

As to UBL still being free, I would say that is cancelled by the fact that AQ has been decimated and unable to mount another attack in the United States in 8 years.

Taliban will be defeated, if Obama is not elected, just as the Iraq insurgency has been.
