Thanks for the link Gottfried, but unfortunately that didn't work. So I've uninstalled the SP2 and everything works great. I did find a long list of program Microsoft said have a "loss of functionality when they run". The list is long so until I figure out how to make them work properly XP2 isn't going back on my machine. There isn't any reference to IE or outlook being effected yet I have problems with both not working.
