I predict that reforming our disgraceful and vastly over-complex and special interest corrupted loophole-ridden unproductive and growth depressing mess of a federal tax code will become ISSUE #1 for the nation.

I don't usually make predictions, but I predict it won't.

I also predict that if it does, the efforts on that issue will be disappointing, particularly, but not only, in terms of how long any improvements last before some the tax complication starts again just as it did after Reagan's tax reform.

Note that actually getting reform will not necessarily indicate the it was priority number one for the country. I don't think it was in Reagan's time (but it was on the list of a bunch of top issues).
