Mitch,

It's good to hear someone is reading my posts.

As a private investor one can either go short or long on a publically traded stock. I don't think it is un-american to hedge a portfolio by shorting some stocks.

Having competed against Microsoft for over 9 years, I feel I have gained a certain perspective about the software business. It's like *banging* your head against a wall if you compete with Bill Gates. It might be better to hedge your financial bets sometimes and partner with Bill. Shorting over priced companies in the path of the Microsoft steamroller hasn't been a bad strategy either in a choppy market.

A stock price reflects *all* available public information. Information can either be preceived as bullish or bearish.

It sounds like you perceive my posts as bearish. Is this a thread for bulls only? Usher please escort that disagreeable fellow to the exit, he doesn't share my opinion.

Dave
