We have read hundreds of anecdotes about people denied medical care due to a patient correctable condition the doctor believes is indicative of the patients lack of self interested care. Stories about over weight patients being denied knee surgery. British patients performing home extractions because they could not get socialised dental care. Rich Canadian politicians traveling to the US to get prompt effective cancer treatment. Etc.

It is important to remember that anecdote does not mean proof. It is just an indicator.
