Olympic Resources has appointed Dr. Timothy Vitalis to the position of
vice-president, scientific research. Dr. Vitalis is a physiologist with
more than 10 years research experience studying animal models of disease.
He completed his doctoral studies at the University of East Anglia Norwich
(United Kingdom) in 1988. He was appointed visiting assistant professor at
the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he won a Parker B. Francis
Fellowship in pulmonary research. In 1992 he won a British Columbia Lung
Association Fellowship to study the molecular biology of latent viral
infections of the lung at the pulmonary research laboratory, department of
pathology and laboratory medicine, University of British Columbia. Dr.
Vitalis has published several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals
and he has performed service as expert reviewer for the National Science
Foundation (USA) and many scientific journals.
Dr. Vitalis will be responsible for scientifically evaluating new
opportunities in biotechnology which have been presented to Olympic, as
part of its corporate diversification program.
The company has agreed to grant Dr. Vitalis 40,000 share purchase options
at a price of 62 cents for a period of two years.
