In Re: Competition for E.Coli test.

I just received this from Neogen's Investor Relations.

"Neogen's E. coli O157:H7 test is the most rapid test on the market, with a testing time of about 15 minutes. The only qualifier is that any time you test for bacteria such as E. coli, you must first enrich or grow the bacteria in a media. This allows for the bacteria to grow large enough to be detected. Our patented media allows for this process in 8 or 20 hours. All other media available, as well as standard laboratory methods, take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to grow the bacteria. Most of our competitors tests then take another 24 to 48 hours to conduct the actual test. The 8 hour growth process is key, because it allows a processor to complete a test during a
normal work day or shift. Neogen's test has been used by USDA for their testing program since Oct. 1994, so it obviously meets their specs."

This bodes very well for 1997. Stock up today on moderately heavy volume of 17,100 shares (for this stock).
