Hi TC,

From my absence, you might have thought that the PowerLeap upgrade was difficult. Nothing could be further from the truth. The video on their web site is pretty accurate.

Adding the Slot 1 adapter with new processor was about as hard as adding a USB PCI card. Easier than adding a new DVD drive as no drivers or software to load or device to configure. Took all of about 10 minutes and I was going slow as it was the first time I'd done one -- just popped the case, removed the P-3 cartridge, slipped in the new adapter with the new CPU already mounted and connected a power lead to a spare connector for a hard drive (a power cable with extra connection is provided). Closed the case, reconnected everything and powered on.

All in all, not a bad deal to nurse another year or so out of an aging box until the dust settles on the latest chips, slots and boards and a major upgrade is warranted (with a domino effect as all the other older boxes are relegated to lesser tasks).

Peace and Justice --- Patrick
