Hi Steve, my point is that firstly Asian fabs don't have enough CMP capacity currently and secondly it will take time to set-up as they now belatedly realize how important it is to yields. Hat's off to IBM, Toshiba & (to a lesser extent) MU, for realizing this early. If it takes only four months to rectify this, I will be very impressed. Eventually, I agree it will happen, but lags and mis-steps are what is behind the current shortage - this is just another. But thanks alot for your info, it is very valuable. Have you heard if they are producing more that 1m units/month at Austin at 0.22mu? Have they transitioned all their lines to 0.22? TIA.
