Craig,I just recently purchased qwst.i did it because Imo the world of telecom will be the most exciting business going forward. With broadband, internet telephony, and multi-media it will all come over the lines and qwst with this acquisition will be solidly positioned. It is inevitable that the smaller telco's hook up.It is also inevitable that the baby bells get their fingers into the pie.The internet is very fragmented right now,but over time all these swirling masses will have to join to form planets.Qwst might get hammered right now,but over the longterm this is a move they had to make.I also thought the lycos deal with Barry Diller was shrewd as well---------I still do,but obviously the market didn't.Consolidation will be the key to the future and I would rather be the big fish than the minnow. The windows of opportunity is slipping away for the small guys and only the momo traders don't care for this consolidation.Look at cmgi today-----as they become real companies the momo's exit.Momo's had their way with iomega and presstek years ago and where these companies now.I want real companies in great fields that over time will be one of the majors in their particular industry-----I think qwst with this play and with its relationship with bellsouth is headed into this catagory!
