One thing that is a flat out lie that libs love to repeat is that GW Bush "brought in Haliburton and Bechtel." I am sick of seeing this and it's time to call it the lie it is. He did not "bring them in." They already WERE in. Bill Clinton Used Haliburton and Bechtel in both Haiti and Bosnia. No one was complaining then, and no one should have been--they did excellent work. GW Bush simply retained their services in their areas of expertise. Why do libs act as if there is something wrong with this? Why was it alright for the Clinton admin. to contract out to Haliburton and Bechtel, but not the Bush admin.? Seems to me that the Bush admin. stuck by the old adage, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," meaning they had excellent contractors for this kind of work and saw no need to find others. And they're still the lowest qualified bidders (albeit in some cases, the ONLY qualified bidders).

In fact, I'm pretty sure there was at least one instance where Clinton overrode a low bid from Dynegy for work in favor of Haliburton. And I don't fault him for that. But this nonsense about supposed wrongdoing in use of Haliburton has got to have the stake driven through its heart that it deserves. It's a lie, pure and simple. Bush simply continued using Clinton's contractors.
