You, or someone else, posted earlier that Taguba's career is over because he was too honest. Ninety percent of the conservatives - not you - on SI and Free Republic are angry at Taguba and the whistleblowers and defensive of the abusers because - - the abusers must have been provoked; - the victims are lucky to be alive rather than killed in battle; - the victims and the rest of the Iraqi people are lucky Iraq hasn't been turned into a sheet of glass; - what happened to the victims is payback for Fallujah; - what happened to the victims is payback for 9/11; - what happened to the victims is nothing more serious than a frat prank, and the photos are similar to Mapplethorpe so we should let the NEA display them. I confess myself to be quite surprised and taken aback. If the world hasn't gone mad, it's been mad and I just really never noticed how mad before.
