"you're being very short sighted when you look just at total market share numbers and judging Apple only on that basis. Apple will not increase market share as it is measured any time soon. This is mainly because they choose not to participate in every computing category that is used to measure market share for the PC. However, this is a stupid metric by which to judge Apple's ability to continue to succeed."

I never said Apple wasn't a great company, I have often said if i had never owned a computer I would likely buy an Apple computer. But the fact is most users have already invested too much time and money into the WinIntel PC and Apple dropped the ball on the Educational and corporate arenas for them ever to get it back.

So the simple fact is Apple will never be able to re-gain much market share back which is and always has been my main point. BTW it isn't short sighted it is commenting on the obvious.
