DVD Player Sales Soar - 7/14/99
According to CEMA, unit sales to dealers for the week ending July 2, 1999, showed DVD sales continue to soar with 145,434 players sold, an 809 percent increase over 1998 total of only 16,000! Projection televisions increased to 33,189, up 49.2 percent from last year.
Year-to-date, projection television sales has remained fairly stagnant and increased by only 15.6 percent, a total of 470,708 units sold, while DVD player sales has increased to 1,286,480, a 365.5 percent increase.
