A politician's job is like trading stocks....

I was watching some news show yesterday or today...can't remember when it actually came on. Probably on Fox News. The comment was made that politicians don't feel like they are doing their job if they aren't passing a bill. Yeah, it was Fox because it was Stossel who said it.

Anyway, it brought me back to something Tom Dorsey once said about trading stocks....this is probably a paraphrase, but it should be close "sometimes the best thing to do is nothing"

I would also argue that it should really be "most of the time, the best thing to do is nothing"

Of course, much of the fault lies with the people as we have rewarded the politicians who do a lot. Look at Robert Byrd. He basically bought all of his votes from the West Virginians. But it wasn't his job to feather the bed of his state.

I think that Obama really is going to be the change agent that saves this country. Enough people are finally realizing that our government is highly dysfunctional and corrupt and that it isn't just a democrat thing. it's both parties.

Washington DC needs an enema and I think it is coming soon.
