I'm watching one of those "housing porn" shows from 2005 (seems so long ago now) where some realtor "expert" tours the house pointing out the details that increase or decrease its value before coming up with some ridiculous final figure that she would list it for - much to the delight of the delusional owner. In this episode, the homeowners are describing how they spent $25,000 on a kitchen remodel, and the realtor nods approvingly...explaining how that increases the home's value by $50,000!! Hindsight.
