Greetings CUBErs. I've been looking to buy myself a nice little digital video computer system and I was wondering why CUBEs MPEG-2/DV transcoder is only in expensive $2000+ cards? I thought there were some plans on making a cheap board which allowed DV and analog input as well as Digital VCR-like software to be used with a PC... right now, it looks likes the product doesn't exist.

Any idea when something like this is coming out? I plan on customizing a workstation from SAG Electronics (10,000 rpm disk) but I'm reluctant to buy anything until I can get a MPEG2/DV board for use with Premiere under $800. Thoughts from the digital video gurus out there?

-Bill
