it doesn't negate the fact that white men HAVE ruled and that women and minorities WERE considered possessions Well, what we're referencing here is the ever present battle between the law of the jungle and the law of civilized people. One is instinctual, dominating, and cruel, whereas the other is rational, egalitarian, and protective of each other's rights. Some religious folks might equate it to the battle between the flesh and spirit as the hormone driven "sin nature" battles against the learned moral values that guide our society. Btw, Long-gone and I have had quite a few discussions in the past over many topics. Despite the many disagreements we've had (mainly over a gold backed dollar) I believe he has a good heart... I believe he may simply have misunderstood you..
