I agree there is no one today of prominence that would fall under the Antichrist describe. Yes he (Biblically it can't be a she) will be a person that can bring together and unite vast different religious and cultural people groups. Through this person's character qualities or fear that he brings to the world will mislead people for 3 1/2 years until at the Midpoint of the 70th week of Daniel he reveals to the world who he is and his demands to be worshipped or put to death. Remember the 70th week starts when this person makes a covenant with Israel during a time that Israel may be in grave danger from surrounding enemies. Also this person during this time will be the leader of a three nation base which will eventually expand to 10 nations.
As far as a military partner to keep law and order read Revelation 13. It identifies a beast (satan) and a DRAGON (which is Antichrist side kick) as you will who gives him this power that you stated.
