On thin client market growth (Several Analysts and press items referenced):
pc.ibm.com
pc.ibm.com

IDC Aug 1999: "The thin client market is beginning to blossom, experiencing more than
83% growth from [the first half 1998 to first half 1999] . . . IBM experienced a
20.2 percent growth rate in worldwide thin client deployments during the first
half 1999. . . . Since thin clients have been implemented and used in
enterprises for the past few years, thin client ease of use, ability to access
all types of information, and overall cost savings are all authentic, confirmed
characteristics. Enterprises are saving money with thin client server
computing, not only because of lower initial purchase costs but also
because the overall costs of installation, management, use, and service are
lower.?
