Jim, CYRX and IBM sold millions of CPUs that are running synchronously at 75MHz. The higher bus speed measurably improves disk I/O and positively affects memory performance. For the CeleronA, a BH6 mobo lets you shift bus speeds from the keyboard for less than the price of many ATX Super 7 boards.

As to Photoshop, have you actually tested Photoshop on two otherwise identical systems? Most images won't fit entirely within the L2 cache of either a PII or a CeleronA, so cache size is nearly meaningless (100MHz memory would improve things but PII/350s and beyond are pricey). I have both a PII and a CeleronA within 15 feet of each other and I'll be damned if there's a significant difference between the two with any of the 5GB of apps that I have to run.
