Plastic Resin Shortage

Todd posted yesterday that he could not buy plastic pipe. We received notice from our suppliers that all the manufacturers's of PVC and HDPE (high density polyethlene) pipe have declared "force majeure" and can not honor schedules or prices.
The hurricane shutdowns and difficulty of restarting the complex resins plants due to missing workers is mentioned. Also, the largest resin plant in the country in Port Comfort, TX suffered an explosion during startup operations.
Remember when just-in-time inventories became such a good thing? Now it really sucks.
