Thank goodness Chris is a master at the innards of toilets, having replaced the "universal" plastic kits he installed in each toilet every couple of years. Which I why I thought that brass sounded like a good idea. Possibly buying a plastic kit from the actual manufacturer is a better idea than the "universal" kits you get a Home Depot, or maybe replacing flaps and tubes every few years is par for the course.
