David: Texas is a very large state, as you know. Just the Population and International Immigration differences in 1999 alone show that.
These figures indicate nearly 7:1 more people in TX vs. CT, and about 10 TIMES the International Immigration numbers to work with.
Stands to reason that Mr. Bush has had to contend with the same issues you mentioned, but on a much larger scale than those in CT.
I chose to compare these two states, as Mr. Gore has never been or Governor any state, nor any company but as you know has been VP for 8 years. While Mr. Cheney hasn't been Governor of a State, he has successfully been the head of a large company and also the head of a large government agency, both of which employ several hundred thousand people.
