13:02 ET QUALCOMM (QCOM) 57 11/16 -4: -- Update -- Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown defending QCOM; says Bloomberg report is wrong in stating that Korea's biggest operators plan to use WCDMA only; also notes that Qualcomm benefits the same in terms of royalties regardless of which version of mobile CDMA an operator chooses to deploy (CDMA, WCDMA, etc). But DBAB does note that there is uncertainty regarding QCOM's market share for WCDMA chipsets; says that given Nokia and Ericsson's focus on this market, QCOM will likely be more challenged for market share of WCDMA chipsets. DBAB maintains STRONG BUY rating on QCOM.
