One of the reasons we failed in Vietnam was of the weakness
of those like Kerry and Fonda. I have talked to many vets who felt we could have won that war had the government
let them, and had the public had not given comfort to the enemy. I think it is insult for anyone to say someone else
died in vain when the person had died believed in the purpose. The terrorists glorify the dead even if their mission fails. That may give them a major advantage, and unlike Vietnam, the terrorists danger will be worldwide
and will never cease, even if Israel is destroyed, though that is their main goal.
We can't not get discouraged by temporary setbacks.
2,400 men died on on Omaha Beach in one day.
That really was result of a type strategy that would never be accepted today. Good thing. The goal was valid, and ultimately the the mission was successful. Many many Americans, before Pearl Harbour, did not want us in that war.
Many think by avoiding war fewer will die, but more often
the opposite is true.
