I doubt that you will see a quotation of commodities in EUR rather than the USD for the simple reason that it is very clear that the EUR is nearing the top of its cycle and where the USD is nearing the bottom (in time, if not actual value). I doubt that those alienated countries take an action that essentially cuts their nose off to spite their face based on an administration that may not be in office in less than two years and guaranteed to not be in office in 5.5 years. And the one thing going for the U.S. is that, in spite of things being bad here, the U.S. economy is still much more resilient than any other country. What happens to the EUR when two major member countries really start to throw rocks at each other?
