re: Ballmer's smart enough to know that within a year the entire market is going to tank Ballmer is busy running his company, and trying to keep it in one piece. I doubt he is spending much time guessing where the stock market will be in 12 months. And even God doesn't know where the market will be then. What Ballmer's thinking is, "The currency we pay our employees in has been severely devalued, so we need to give them a raise."
