Jules, I think you and John have nailed this trend and it's possible effects on the head. The one thing that encourages me, as a long term Intel investor, is the laptop market being so dominated by Intel. Corporate America, and now Asia, is starting to fall in love with the docking station concept. With improvements in battery life, this trend should continue for some time to come. Intel's ASP for Tillamook should be pretty high until they receive some competition which doesn't burn hot or suck up battery life quickly.

The previous article I posted reviewing 29 new laptops is just as important in evaluating Intel's stock price as this sub 1K computer trend IMHO.

I have to admit I was wrong a year ago, when I said on this thread that the sub 1K was a fad that would go away. I didn't realize that DRAM and other components prices would drop so quickly. Now you can get a pretty decent computer for under 1K. I doubt if I would buy it, but I can understand why so many do.

Happy New Year to All!

Michael
