I don't think much of what you say is true. I have never met anyone born of immigrants that puts their parents' culture ahead of being Americans apart from Muslims. Muslims were my first personal experience of such a phenomenon and to a much lesser extent Indians.

With respect to work and welfare, there are not many immigrants and their subsequent generations that use welfare with the exception of medical care.
