While the bashers have had a field day with Oracle and Larry Ellison, the plain fact of the matter is that Oracle is still a very formidable company. As CRMDaily reported earlier, Oracle not only has held its overall market share but has edged up fractionally, albeit more slowly than Microsoft and IBM. Most of the gains among the big three database companies were largely at the expense of smaller competitors.
