Greg,

A while back a guy I knew wanted a chunk of my money to invest with his can't lose options scheme. After watching him draw it all out on a chalkboard and explain it in great detail, all I could say was, "whatever you say boss, let me know if it works." This guy is now in about the same shape your friend is in. This guy wasted years of his life building what turned out to be a very intricate, sophisticated bomb that ultimately blew up in his face.

I've had probably a dozen cold calls from comodities brokerage houses that all had one of the "top traders" in the country who wanted me to invest a minimum of 50K in their fund. When I asked about their 1, 3 and 5 year total returns, they were all 8-12%. I told them they could do a lot better by sending me 50K. If these guys have been doing this for 20-30 years and can only average 8-12% I'd have to be a fool to think I could consistently do better on my own.

The military emphasizes the KISS (keep it simple stupid!) principle. My investing strategy is simple. (1) Identify those companies with the best management and long term growth prospects. (2) Throw as much money at them as possible (especially on dips). So far this strategy seems to be working for me.

Currently my "universe" of stocks is limited to INTC and CSCO, but I'm starting to learn more about MSFT.

Thanks for your posts and comments on prop. 211.

Good Luck,

Lee
