Not so. The differences between K75 and T-bird were very minor -- the addition of the L2. Not even speed-path work was done.

On the other hand, the M-tang/Palomino core was completely redone with custom-designed logic for speed and short-circuit evaluations to minimize number of circuit switches and to save power. Also the drive strengths of non-critical path circuits were reduced to minimize power consumption.

On top of that we have a bunch of new architectural features like PowerNow, SSE, HW prefetch and TLB improvements.
