I installed Linux Mint 17 64-bit Cinnamon Edition onto the HP laptop this weekend. Was very impressed overall. Everything worked out of the box.... Wi-Fi drivers, suspend / resume, even the keyboard function keys for screen brightness and speaker volume. The one thing that stumped me initially is that the Wi-Fi did not seem to work, but then I found out that the Wi-Fi indicator on the laptop also acts as a button.... press it once to toggle the Wi-Fi on or off!

My Dad had been using a Windows XP netbook up to this point, and the HP laptop with Linux Mint will be a good upgrade for him. I installed the latest Chromium browser for Linux, which included the DRM to even watch Netflix content!
