Emory,

I've read your various posts and the chain of messages you and Denis put together as "proof" to justify your personal attacks on Jim Goodman. It may be possible that a casual reader coming across one of Jim's messages about emotional trading for the first time could misinterpret some of his comments as being negative. However, I find it hard to believe that a sophisticated investor like you would make the same mistake. Anyone who reads more than one or two of his comments will quickly understand that he is a sincere person trying to help others. He does have over 25 years of extensive investing experience and freely shares his knowledge with any interested party.

I've read over a hundred of Jim's messages on various threads and have never read anything that indicates he intentionally tried to hurt anyone or where he solicited business. His "call me" comments are an indication of his willingness to help. In fact, I've written to him several times and even called him a few times recently. He generously answered all of my questions and never once mentioned he was a broker. This is not exactly the profile of an aggressive salesperson. In fact, it is just the opposite. Jim seems to be genuinely trying to help people, not damage them.

The fact is that the consistent theme of Jim's messages about the dangers of emotions in the stock market should hit home with most of us. They lead me to read a number of books on trading psychology. That reading, along with Jim's messages, convinced me that emotional trading is the single biggest factor that separates consistent winners from consistent losers. Yelling, swearing, blaming the broker/CNBC/market/etc., really doesn't accomplish anything. The market is what it is. Wishing otherwise changes nothing, only causes stress. That is the message Jim is trying to get across. It certainly has dramatically improved my trading success, as, I'm sure, it has that of many others. His stock ideas have also proven to be extremely helpful. I've made a lot of money because of Jim.

Finally, S.I.'s Terms of Use state in part: "The following actions, among others, may result in removal of messages and/or termination of your membership:

1. Posting messages that include personal attacks, slurs or profanity, or that otherwise are intended to harass any other member of the community."

You seem to have performed every one of these actions against Jim for reasons known only to you.

I value everyone's investing opinions, including yours. I don't always agree with what I read. When that happens, I just move on to the next message.

We all need to limit our commentary to investing ideas. Too much energy is being wasted, including yours and mine, that could be put to more productive use.

Erv
