Hi Khai,

The two Jan 10 calls that you mentioned have symbols VLQAB and ZQVAB. The latter looks like a LEAP (ZQVAB) and it looks like they opened a new series that is part of the normal cycle for VLSI (VLQAB). The quotes at Dreyfus don't look correct; maybe they are old? If you decide on the Jan 10, I would go for VLQAB because it should have more liquidity since it has about 4 times more open interest than the LEAP.

The only advice that I can give you on buying options is that it's hard to make money on them. You need a big move at just the right time to compensate for the time premium that you have to pay. This isn't to say that you can't make money buying options but I think you have to be very selective and take profits when you get them. I would recommend that you only use a small amount of your investment capital to trade options...maybe 5% or so.

That said, I currently have an order in to buy 12 October 7.5 calls at 13/16. It's a gamble LOL.

Best of luck and thanks for the phone number for IQC.

Dan
