it could have been the shorts whispering .28, .30 .32 .... in hopes of creating disappointment. IMO that's the very reason this whole whisper number thing has gone by the wayside. Shorts were climbing on board BIGTIME. I know I for one just kind of quit paying attention. For a couple quarters, the whisper number's for different issues actually was fairly accurate. I played different whisper numbers for sweet profits about a year ago or so, but then it started getting outlandish. Numbers no-one could ever hope to meet. Numbers that you couldn't believe. Easy for a short to hear the REAL whisper number and add a penny to it as they passed it on to someone else. So OK, I guess there IS NO whisper if no one is paying attention. If a whisper number is whispered in the forrest, but no-ones there to hear it, does it really make any noise?<G>
