The thesis of what is going on is very clear although i never hear the MSM point it out.

Trump and to a lesser extent the Republican party is doing "exactly" what Naomi Klein explains in her great book :"The Shock Doctrine'; I.E. they are using Trumps executive power to get rid of government and replace it with the private sector.

As mentioned, for the last 50 years the Republicans have been doing everything in their power to get rid of government programs and replace them with private industry. They seem to have no understanding that a strong central government is essential to having a modern democracy. And they think pure capitalism can do better. But it is really nothing but a ploy to keep power in the private sector.

As crazy as that is. They want social policy to be determined by the oligarchs, not our democracy. And of course the rich make determinations that benefit them.

E.g. Trump's group said we need private industry to distribute masks, PPE, as government cannot do it as well.

The Chamber of Commerce told Trump NOT to use the Defense Act to instruct companies to produce medical equipment.

Trump will NOT reopen ACA even as millions lose employer insurance. Trump wants to force people into the private sector.

14 Republican governors still refuse to expand medicaid. And nine still refuse to order stay at home instructions. Trump won't instruct as a matter of "states rights" right wing ideology. States rights, the old racist dog whistle to keep African Americans down.

Here is part one of six of Klein's book, which i have read. I would recommend everyone to watch all six parts as it is very revealing and explains exactly what Trump and the right wing are up to!
