This seems to be a continuing cat and mouse game between analysts and company officials in all the heavily followed listed companies. "I can't tell you but were comfortable" It's like telling without telling in order to skirt the law. I've seen in at Intel, Cisco, Microsoft. The "We really don't comment on analysts' expectations" was from their PR lady, trying to cover up any "direct comments" from the executive. Like what PR folks have to constantly do when Larry Ellison at Oracle speaks. So if you want to ridicule Micron, you might as well ridicule the whole industry. By the way, I think it's unfair that company officials play this game with analysts, while leaving the small investors in the cold. It becomes privileged information that the analysts hold, regurgitate, then spew out with bravado, as if they have their how insights.
