Barry, I know that attending worship services is not always that exciting when a person is lost. Even we Christians get tripped up by satan, he knows our weak spots, he can throw a stumbling block to distract us. But that is the very time we should resist him by doing the thing God wants us to do. This is one way we grow, exercising our self discipline to beat satan.
What you say is true, I have experienced God working thru me beyond what I was capable of doing. Not that I did anything so wonderful, just prepared and made myself available. I am no special person, He does that for all His Children . I recall one time that I was called on to preach the morning service. Man, you talk about a gripper, I had never done that before. As the pastor said , "you know Jesus is not going to let you fail.". I'm not sure I really knew that , but I do know this, while delivering the message, I felt Him working in me beyond my means. I've often asked myself about that. No other explanation, I stepped out on faith and He delivered. Wonderful God we have, praise His Name. Must stop.
