"New and Improved" are scary words. Actually, DVxplore apps should be fine for writing to hard disk and tape, and probably for the various DVD recordable formats. The DVD recordable device drivers should take care of the differences between media. The problem comes when you have to playback the DVD on a different incompatible machine. There is no problem if you record and play back on the same drive.
