I said there is no water or hills in the deserts where there is most sunlight. Elsewhere suggested improved transmission infrastructure cold move the electricity from the desert to where there was mountains and water. Add the transmission line losses into your calculation.

But your 10% seems very low to me. What kind of pumps are you envisioning?
