For instance, when your factories are running under capacity, you lose your start apportioning underutilization burden costs to all your lines...and losing market share is a nightmare on cost.

This problem is NOT increased cost from underutilization. If you think that, you're freaking nuts.

The problem is the unions. Yes, they have other problems, but the current show-stopper is the unions. If you don't get rid of them, the companies must die.
