Wayne, I agree on the place and show bets. But part of it has to do with the huge field. Show bettors are more likely to take a flier. Man, I missed this Derby by a mile. Buddy Gill did nothing. I didn't like Funny Cide in any way shape or form and felt that Peace Rules was overrated. The bad news is, Empire is out of The Preakness and that will make for a larger field there. I don't think Funny Cide has scared off anyone.
