I don't know what the next killer app is. But transistors and storage are practically free and bandwidth is getting there. The next Bill Gates will be the person who figures out how to exploit free computing and free connectivity.

To me it is clear and I see it already starting.

VOICE

I just read of a "pay per minutes" cell phone that has only 3 buttons and you dial, etc. using the network. Perhaps Ellison had it right but for the wrong box? Network computing but for PDA's not PCs where the interface will be voice!

Many of us don't use PDA's or upgrade as it is too hard to get the data where we want it. Heck, I'm still using my old HP 100lx from '93... where I paid $400 for a 10M flash card! THAT is old! Still works great for me. The other killer app will be software that connects all these devices so they are seamless and backup, sync, etc. without us having to be networking experts.
