You assume the Iraqis are going to put up a fight.

Well.. I'm NOT discounting the possibility that SOME Iraqis will put up a fight.. After all, those who have been in bed with Saddam's regime have the most to lose....

But if they're smart, they've already set up their "rainy-day funds" and are ready to high-tail it... But some will have nowhere to go.. and may find "dying with honor" preferable to dying by vigilante lynching...

It's NOT going to be easy for US troops to prevent retaliation and looting.. We're going to have to be extremely firm in maintaining order...

That said, while I would rather not have to use military force to overthrow Saddam, doing nothing is also not an option.. And neither is reliving the "cat and mouse" game the UN inspectors engaged in previously...
